Don't be Tardy for the Potty!

Here ladies and gentlemen we have Rowan Lago at her finest! She says 'poop' a lot, and yesterday was talking about it a ton before she dropped a load in her Pamper. The Dr. said last week don't introduce the potty until she is very interested in it, but talking about it before she actually did it was good enough for us. So tonight, after the bath, we tried to get her to go pee on it. What follow is the hilarity that ensued!

Drinking water on the potty, to get the flow rolling.

This is what happened instead--she picks up the potty and moves it to a better spot for deeper concentration.

Happy Halloween! P.S.-- We're back on the grid!

Hi everyone! After a painful stint with no internet and an even more painful stint (1 year) without cable television, I'm pleased to announce we are once again contributing bill payers to the Comcast corporation! Here are some new shots of the girls from Halloween!
A cockeyed shot of Rowie before her costume.

Lucy getting her makeup put on...try to pay to attention to my giant front gut that looks like I'm 5 months pregnant...guess what? I'M NOT!

Lucy in costume--Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

Rowan the baby bumble bee! These are taken at DownTown Bothell's trick-or-treat thing with all the businesses, it was fun, and I will be eating all of Rowan's candy at a later date.

The Guyer-Lago circle: Angus (Stormtropper), Izzy (guess!), Rowan and Lucy.

Another attempt at a family shot...thanks for all that cooperation, Lucy!

Next stop: Aunt Deb's to go trick-or-treating with Kristi, Dave & Co., and Meg the clown!

All the girls in costume! behind Lucy and Ro are Chloe (7), Meg (my cousin, 12), Lily (9), and Ella the cheetah (4) these (for those who don't know) are my cousin Kristi's boyfriend's daugthers, they are a party wherever they go!!

Rowie and Kristi the Klown! By the end of the night, Rowan could actually kind of say trick-or-treat! Yee-haw! Thanks Kris!
Thats it folks, but stay tuned, there might actually be more photos of our family up here before the girls' birthdays in April...we'll see!

My Monthy Summer Post

Before I get started in the explanation of these amazing pictures, let me first say that I hate when you're uploading pictures to blogger and it puts them in the opposite order you added them-- for example, you are looking through your pictures, brainstorming how you're going to make your blog entry flow, and then, when everything is uploaded and ready to go, you pictures are all in the wrong order. I've said my piece.

The Country Fair! We took a trip to Eugene in the middle of July. It was a trip for the summer, and it was a fun one! This recent family snap shot would be us, at the fair, drenched in mud and rain. It started down pouring as soon as we got onto the shuttle bus and didn't stop til we got in line to get back on the shuttle to go back to Eugene. We made the best of it. Lucy even got a sno-cone. Good times, good times.

We had a surprise visit from Chris and Alisa who went to the fair on Saturday, and stayed with us at our friends' Nikki and Brady's house on Saturday night. We pitted cherries and against everyone else's will except my own we played a game that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you!

A group shot! Sans Nikki :( Brady, Ryan, Lucy, Me, Sarah and Rowan. This was at a winery in the Willamette Valley-- Sweet Cheeks. We had dinner here and it was my first wine tasting trip! Yee-haw! This was the second of two places; the first one with a free 7-taste flight! It might be my new favorite hobby!

R & R at the first of the two wineries--that are across the street from each other.

I don't know what it is about this picture, but I like it. An action shot.
In other news, I saw the movie Julie and Julia last week, and there are two things that are going to come out of it: I am going to get a Julia Child French cook book, and I'm am going to try and blog more. I'll let you know how it goes! Ha!

summertime catch up

Here's the deal; I'm really bad about taking pictures. I have literally no pictures from the summer thus far. People take them, then give them to me. It works ... enjoy these fine selections from the late spring of '09!

Stay tuned! I have a CD of pictures from our trip to Eugene last week...don't hold your breath though!

uuughhh. . .June

Wowza, maybe it's been a few weeks since I've made a post! We've been so busy with the end of school for Lucy (offically a 2nd grader now!) and my birthday, which takes up an entire month as it is. I have a lot of pictures to post, so I'll do them a few days at a time...hold on to your shapewear everyone...it's going to be a wild ride!!
Rowan already tired and it's only 9:30 a.m.

Pretty baby in the morning light.

Back to sleep it is!

An ode to Fart Face

As some of you may know, I started a second myspace a while back, mainly to look at Ryan's myspace page. I couldn't access it unless I had a page myself, so that's what it took. But it was highly secret, as I secretly hate myspace. So, with no better ideas, I decided to make my page a disguise page, with a profile pic of E.T. and Michael Jackson, an old personal favorite. And what better name to go with my incongnietus picture but Fart Face? Right? This post (because I have no other new fun pics) is a dedication, to that myspace page. Below you will see Fig. A, an artist's rendering of my all time favorite image, and Fig. A-1, the actual footage.

Cabin Fever

No, I'm not referring to the amature horror flick starring Ryder Strong, but the Molloy family cabin on Lake Cushman, at the edge of the Olymic National Forrest!! Jen and I took Izzy, Gus and Rowan up for a one-nighter, to get her aired out and cob-web free for the summer. We had awesome weather yesterday upon arrival, and I may have donned one of Jen's 78-year-old Aunt Pat's killer swim suits. Onlookers got a good show. Here's some visual aid: let it be known that I also was playing with color when I uploaded these shots to my computer, so they are all a little different. Enjoy!

Cabin from front. Underneath is wood storage/bat cave. Oars? We got 'em!

No "good dog" for you this time, Izzy. P.S. this game makes a great gift-- Doodle Dice. Do it.

Red haired & blue eyed. She spent most of these 24 hours in this play pen, and loved almost every minute of it! Seriously!

Angus pretending he's a Japanese exchange student with the peace sign in his cheek.

View of the lake and my face. Good times, good times.

A little RECOGNITION

This is a post script to the post you are about to feast your eyes on-- In the first paragraph I make comment on the toys in the picture, please excuse me for forgetting the coolest toys in the picture, the ones my father-in-law, Cliff, made!! There are two toys: an ark with animals, and a put the shapes in the box game. Both of these beauties were made by CDL Cabinet Design, owned and operated by Cliff D. Lago, out of Greenfield, OH. How's that for a plug!?

Family Ties

This is a rare occurance, but I am logged into the computer under Ryan's profile. I came to write a post, and when I clicked to get into my pictures I realized I had none, because I was in Ryan's side of the computer, and all the pictures are in my side. So, what this means ladies and germs, is that the pictures you are about to see Ryan himself has uploaded to the computer, and are all from his phone, it's a day in the life of Ryan Lago, if you please. Let's see what he's got to show us, shall we?

Here we have Rowan giving her new baby a hug. She got this baby for her birthday from Aunt Stacy & Boys, Jill & Johari. The cell phone and keys were also a gift, from Aunt Cindy & Uncle Paul. In the corner you can see the horse from the See 'n' Say, a gift from Auntie Deb, Uncle Carl & Eric.

Here is Rowan attending a tutorial on how to take pictures of yourself for social networking sites. When you hold down the shutter button, you say, "MySpace!" with a gay accent.

Rowan and Lucy sitting on the Care Bear couch getting their daily 3 1/2 hour dose of television. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we are huge promoters of hands-on parenting.

Lucy looking pensive while the eye from her Hello Kitty placemat stares hollow through the eye of the camera.

My lovely husband, Ryan D. Lago. Make no mistake, although times is hard, times is hard, there's no one else I'd take for a companion to make poop sandwiches for lunch with and to watch crude adult cartoons with every night. Love eewe. = )

Zoo Time!

For Lucy and Rowan's birthday, my Auntie Robin gave us a membership to the Woodland Park Zoo. Yesterday we took our maiden voyage, accompanied by our friends Ellie and Donnianne. We had a super fun time, and the babies were so good!! No tantrums, no crying, no sleeping; which could also be a con of the trip, and no Bird/Swine flu or Wolf Aids...that is recognizable so far. The weather was perfect, overcast and warm enough with no breeze. We even got soft serve ice cream and saw a peacock with its' feathers out. It was all the ingredients for an awesome day. And in exchange for some manual labor, Jen bought me dinner and a margarita. I'm pretty sure if I don't get a new job I'll just take a position on the 124th St. Southbound 405 exit with a sign that says, "Will Work For Food: Mexican or Thai perferred, but will settle for a BicMac or a #2, beef, w/a Coke from Taco Time." That'll all be the fine print of the sign ; )Rowan playing in ZooMazium, an indoor playground that was just her and Ellie's size! With oversized chairs for grownups on the outside, no hands on parenting! Just my style.

Having some snacks in the family fun farm where Rowan proceeded to call every animal a dog, and tried to kick a goat in the ribs like 5 times.

Opening a birthday present from cousin Danielle, who drove down from Bellingham for the Panda show on Sunday.

That's all for today ladys and gents. Oh, and please post thoughts on me going back to school for my ASL (American Sign Language) certification. I'm an open book for some advice!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed the non-rainy weather. I had to work today, but no matter, I was done by 7, and I get to watch Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tonight!! It was my mother's day present from Ryan, Lucy and Rowan. Also gifted to me was a sweet card from Lucy, and breakfast in bed! And, lest I forget, Lucy woke up at 5:30 a.m., came into our room, and got Ryan up to start the pancakes. He made it all the way to the kitchen before he realized what time it was, and they put on a movie and went back to sleep...but not for long. Lucy came walzing into our room (where I was still sleeping) with a plate of pancakes and bacon, at 6:57 a.m. Needless to say, the kid was excited. She brought me coffee, too; it was very thoughtful and she was proud as a pea-cork (I spelled it that way on purpose).

This video is of tonight after I got home from work. This has been our favorite game for a while now. Rowan gets a serious kick out of it!

Just for the Blog of it.

It's another morning...another cup of coffee in my favorite red Fussball Club Basel mug from Switzerland...another Disney movie for Rowan in her PJ jammers that she isn't even watching...I was reading Donnianne's blog about her day of tantrums and other convenient things. I had a similar day, except mine was more that I wanted to rent a cave for a month, all utilities incl. I feel better today : )

We have an event today at work. Wacoal's Fit for the Cure. Or, as Jen coined, Bra-leluiah!! Which I'm petitioning for that name of the event next year. It's kind of a big deal, we should be busy with a lot of traffic in the store. Plus, there will be jelly beans, and mini water bottles, so I'm pretty stoked.

Rowan has turned into a toddler over night, I think. She does things differently, with more thought process behind it-- at least I think she does anyway. It would make sense though, she has a huge head (90th percentile to match her 25th %ile body) which means she has a huge brain, and is a genius.

Here are a few examples of her being mischievous:

Phantom baby steals candy out of her sister's Easter basket.

Caught red handed, eating the Hershey's kiss with the foil ON.

Devil baby drops every piece of hotdog and corn lunch on the floor.

Devil baby eats the lunch off the floor, instead.

First Steps!!

Today Rowan and I hung out with our friends Donnianne and Elliott. Elliott and Rowan are about six months apart, and today was the first time they actually played together-- it was so fun watching them interact with each other, sharing toys, sippy cups, utensils, etc. It was nice to see Donnianne, too ; ) We also got to see my cousin Robby today! He's up visiting from LA, and we haven't seen him since Christmas, so it was a fun afternoon visit...we had a full day, to say the least. BUT, the most exciting part was Rowan taking her first steps...in a row!! She did about three consecutive at the park, and then I almost peed my pants. When we got to my aunt's house later, she took like 4 or 5 steps, steadily, toward my Aunt Deb!! Yeah baby!!! She's on her way. Can you believe this is what she looked like just a year (and 2 days : ) ago?! This photo was taken May 1. 2008 The bottom pic is from her birthday party.

Forgotten

There's a few pics here off my phone I just uploaded...thought they were cute. Rowan in her carseat with her sunhat on! love that hat!
Yo-Da one for me =)

Rowan with her Grandpa Cip

And, the real reason for my post...the piece de resistance...Rowan taking some steps. The funny part is what she does before and after...enjoy!
