Rowan... 4 days old.
Jen had to whisk as I drank, because the oil kept separating from the rest of the concoction
Just add Vodka, Rite Aid brand Castor Oil, and the Dole juice of your choice! Notice the red hair anywhere else besides baby? Maybe Ryan's face! Booya!
Here are some pictures of new baby Rowan. We don't have a working digital camera, so I have a collaboration of pics from friends and family that have been over to see the babe. For those of you who don't know, our plan to deliver at the birth center fell through, because baby came two weeks late...so the picture of me with the tall dark-haired beauty, AKA my friend Jen, was the night prior to the induction at the hospital. I was drinking a Castor Oil Cocktail, as I like to call it, ingredients also pictured.
Rowan is a super calm, sweet baby. She's been sleeping in chunks of 3-4 hours every night in between feedings, and we swear that she has cracked a few smiles at us already :) Lucy, Ryan and I are all head over heels in love with this babe and her red hair...she is so much fun, and she doesn't even do anything!
Here's a few facts, in the case you found yourself wondering:
- Labor was about 13 hours, from point of induction to actual delivery--I was only in real pain for about 4 hours (1am-5am, when she was born)
- She was 8lbs., O oz. at birth, and was 21 inches long
- Born at UW Medical Center, with the Midwife on call there. I did it with no interventions, besides the pitocin.

YAY!! I bet you feel so much better! Kudos to natural, I did also with the exception of nubain for some relief, as I was in labor 16 hours. It allowed me to rest for about 45 minutes... SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! Sophie has reddish hair, so they can be redheads together! I can't wait to meet her. I'm glad you are getting sleep. If you are breastfeeding and if it hurts as bad as it did for me, all I can say is - nippleshields! Take care and say hello to the fam! See you next year! :) We're moving back!
So glad to hear things went well and good job going natural. Isn't it an amazing feeling!!! Your birth photos are so beautiful.
